For the third time in as many days a Steelers rookie was injured during training camp.
Running back James Conner left Sunday’s padded practice with an injured left shoulder after what had been an impressive performance. Conner was one of seven Steelers players mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin in his post-practice injury report.
Tomlin also mentioned linebacker Vince Williams, safety Mike Mitchell, cornerback Senquez Golson, tight ends Scott Orndoff and Xavier Grimble, and rookie linebacker Keion Adams. Tomlin said Orndoff was dehydrated and Grimble and Adams also had heat-related issues.
“I really feel this way especially in the last couple weeks, month, wow, I see the light at the end of the tunnel if you will,” Luck told reporters Friday. “And I truly feel in my mind, in my heart that I know I’m going to be better.”
Now, whether that means Luck is going to be ready for Week 1 Cheap Jerseys And Hats From China when the Colts play the Rams Sept. 10 remains to be seen.
The typical recovery time after labrum surgery can range anywhere from six to nine months. Luck had surgery in mid-January so he is approaching the timetable to be back, but with any injury and surgery like this, not to mention the value of Luck to the team, it may be prudent to let him come back later rather than sooner to extend his NFL career.
For now Luck will try to progress to working through a throwing motion, to throwing a tennis ball and eventually throwing a football. It’s a long process, but one that is infinitely worth it for the Colts’ franchise player.
