Michael Floyd can’t even use mouthwash during home detention

Michael Floyd will need to abide by some strict restrictions as he serves his sentence for drunk driving.

The Chargers are switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense this year under Gus Bradley and Ingram is still listed as an outside linebacker on the Chargers roster, meaning he would get just over $14.1 million this year.

Ingram is only the seventh player in team history the Chargers have used the tag on, and the first since Vincent Jackson in 2011.

Ingram wrapped up a five-year rookie contract worth just over $16 million this season. He played sparingly as a rookie and missed most of 2013 with a torn ACL that also slowed him in 2014 before he finally had his breakout 2015 campaign.

The 6-2, 247-pounder is only 27 years old and could have been the most coveted free agent this year. He had 10 1/2 sacks in 2015 and followed that up with eight sacks last season to go with four forced fumbles.

The Chargers have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal with Ingram or he would play 2017 under the franchise tag. The Chargers would like to keep Ingram paired with defensive end Joey Bosa, who was the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year after recording 10 1/2 sacks Where To Buy Cheap Jerseys in 12 games last season.

NFL free agency: Jets continue teardown, cut Brandon Marshall

Keeping up with their recent purge of high-priced veterans, the Jets on Friday officially cut ties with wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Marshall, New York’s leading receiver two years running, joins cornerback Darrelle Revis and center Nick Mangold, who were informed by the team earlier this week they would be released when the new league year opens March 9. Combined, the trio will save the Jets more than $28 million in cap space for the 2017 season.

Cleveland got the Browns back in 1999 in the form of an expansion team, and their lone playoff appearance since came in 2002, when Hunt was just 7 years old. The only other winning season was in 2007, when Cheap Raider Jerseys the Browns went 10-6 but missed out on the playoffs.

But Hunt, who is projected as a third-round pick, said he’d be ecstatic to be Cheap Quality Jerseys able to play for his hometown Browns, despite the franchise’s continual losing.

“It’d mean a lot,” Hunt said. “I would be home and just be able to play and enjoy my time at home and just have a lot of supporters and family out there, and it’d be a huge experience.”

The Browns, who ranked 19th in rushing last season while going 1-15, could use a player like Hunt, who has seen his stock rise since a standout showing at the Senior Bowl. The Browns haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since Peyton Hillis ran for 1,177 yards in 2010.

Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins: ‘Since I stopped drinking, it’s been a transformation’

Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins said Tuesday that he has stopped drinking and attended alcohol rehab on an outpatient basis this offseason, ESPN.com reported.

Seferian-Jenkins, 24, said he quit drinking Jan. 21 and is focused on trying “to win one day at a time.”

“Knowing you need help and you don’t go get it, that’s the worst thing,” he told ESPN.com. “I was scared to get help. I was scared and embarrassed to tell people I have a problem.”

The cascade of events that led to this point: Seferian-Jenkins, while with the Buccaneers, was arrested on a DUI charge in September and, in the aftermath, a police video surfaced in which he makes crude remarks in the back of the police cruiser. The Bucs, who drafted him in the second round in 2014, waived him after the incident. The Jets took a chance on him, picking him up on waivers, but he continued to drink during the 2016 season and ballooned to 285 pounds, 25 over his roster weight. Finally, he sought help in January. In March, he was suspended for the first two games of the 2017 season under the NFL’s personal-conduct policy.

Although he had to return a portion of his signing bonus from his contract, Johnson clarified his departure had nothing to do with money. Nonetheless, he’s making the most of his free time now.

“They told me they wouldn’t trade me if I came back and stuff like that, but Liverpool Cheap Jerseys it wasn’t about that,” Johnson said. “It was about how I Miami Dolphins Cheap Jerseys felt.

“Retired life’s good, man. My schedule is freed up. It’s not entirely free because I’m doing a little work here and there independently, but it’s been good. I can’t complain. I’m spending time with my family, I’m going to move home soon, so it’s been good.”

Johnson, a six-time Pro Bowl and three-time All-Pro selection, finished his career with 731 receptions for 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns — all Lions franchise records.

The Lions’ tight end need remains a substantial one

It’s highly unlikely that Charlton falls this far, but if so, he’d be a great fit for a 5-technique/strongside defensive end in Dan Quinn’s offense. The Falcons still need to retool their defensive line.

Finding a home for Jabrill Peppers isn’t easy, but from all I’ve heard, I’d be surprised if he wasn’t a first-round pick. The Saints leaving the first round with Jonathan Allen and Jabrill Peppers sounds awesome on paper.

Denver needs offensive line support, and even though it likely won’t land one of the top three offensive tackles, they can still get the best guard in the 2017 class. Lamp should be going some place in the top-25.

The Lions’ tight end need remains a substantial one, and they’ll use a first-two round pick on the position. Njoku had an expectedly awesome NFL Combine, and if he’s available at 21, I’d be NBA Jerseys For Sale surprised if he wasn’t the pick.

The Rangers have the depth to replace Desmond in center field, as the Rangers won’t platoon outfielders as much as they did in the second half of the 2016 when they had Desmond, Shin-Soo Choo, Nomar Mazara and Carlos Gomez. Gomez is positioned to start the year in center with DeLino DeShields backing him up, while Mazara will play in left and Choo in right.

Hook up a PlayStation to the big video board in the stadium, and have the teams play as themselves in “MLB: The Show 17,” for PlayStation 4. You can do all sorts of things in it, like skip commercials and pitching changes. (Available March 28, exclusively for PlayStation 4.)

Orioles’ Adam Jones claims racist abuse at Fenway

Baltimore Orioles’ centre fielder Adam Jones claims he was racially abused by fans at Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park on Monday.

Jones made the allegations following the Orioles’ 5-2 win, which left them a game clear at the top of the AL East.

“A disrespectful fan threw a bag of peanuts at me,” Jones told USA Today. “I was called the N-word a handful of times tonight. Thanks. Pretty awesome.

“I heard there was 59 or 60 ejections tonight in the ball-park. It is what it is, right. I just go out and play baseball. It’s unfortunate that people need to resort to those type of epithets to degrade another human being.

“I’m trying to make a living for myself and for my family. It’s unfortunate. The best thing about myself is that I continue to move on, and still play the game hard. Let people be who they are. Let them show their true colours.”

“I think the most important currency to have nowadays is high-end prospects, and I think we — by everyone’s evaluation — have collected a number of those,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said, via MLB Network. “So I think we can easily do that. It’s just, will we do that?

“I think we’ll stay engaged in the marketplace, and over time, if we do match up favorably with anybody where we can get what we want and they get what they want, then yes, we’ll NBA Jerseys Cheap try to pull something down.”

Quintana, who is signed over the next four years at a decently affordable $35 million, went 13-12 with a 3.20 ERA and 181 strikeouts last season. Still just 27 years old, he is on the upswing of his career and would be a valuable addition for the Yankees in the competitive AL East.

Outfielder Clint Frazier or infielder Gleyber Torres are the Yankees’ top-ranked prospects. It would likely take one or both of them to snatch Quintana away from Chicago.

The question is whether or not they will be willing to meet the demand as the season draws near.

John Gibbons: Chris Archer should be suspended for throwing behind Jose Bautista

Rays ace Chris Archer stands accused of firing a purpose pitch that came too close for comfort behind Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista.

That’s more than enough to warrant a suspension in the mind of John Gibbons, who called on MLB to follow a recent trend and step in to discipline such an action.

“I would expect there has got to be some kind of suspension,” the Blue Jays manager told reporters while discussing Archer’s alleged behavior Sunday afternoon following a 3-1 win. “The way they handle things now, the (Manny) Machado thing the other day, the ball was thrown behind him.

“Now, if the umpire had not issued a warning, OK, maybe he didn’t think something was wrong. Since he issued a warning, maybe he thought, ‘Ah, something’s not right here. If the umpire thinks something was issued for a reason, maybe he though there was some intent and that’s why I would imagine the league would step up like they do most of the time. I would be disappointed if they didn’t. They have to maintain that, whatever the word is, continuity.”

Smith already should have taken the early lead just by finding a bigger sucker than he had been a year earlier. Yes, it does make him the kind of executive who excels at putting out fires that he lit, and at this point the Texans deserve either better from him, or from a different general manager.

Smith, however, managed to keep a lid on Osweiler’s confrontation with Bill O’Brien long enough to find someone to take the quarterback off the Texans’ hands.

Of course, the Browns — and the rest of the league — might already have known all about it, and it was the public that was in the dark for more than two months. But it definitely looks better from Manchester United Cheap Jerseys the Texans’ standpoint to have kept it from being common knowledge that they didn’t just want to move on from the mistake of Osweiler and his contract, but had to — and as fast as possible.

players view a sacrifice fly as an intentional act — just like a sac bunt.

Washington fell behind after starting pitcher Tanner Roark gave up three runs in the fourth inning. The Phillies added another run in the fifth before the Nationals scored four Cheap UK Basketball Jerseys runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The game then went scoreless until the ninth inning when Harper sent a moonshot into another stratosphere.

The Nationals and Bryce Harper came to terms Saturday on a one-year extension of the right fielder’s contract, under which he will make $21.65 million in 2018. The extension marks the largest one-year deal for an arbitration-eligible player in MLB history.

The Nationals (23-12) appear to have a solid grasp on the NL East, even though it’s only mid-March.

In other words, again, players view a sacrifice fly as an intentional act — just like a sac bunt.

“When there is a guy on third with less than two out, I know I want to get the ball in the air. A base hit would be great, don’t get me wrong, but I want to get the run in,” said the Phillies’ Cameron Rupp. “I don’t understand why it wouldn’t count the same as a sac bunt. … I think it does need to be changed, 100 percent.”

In all, I spoke to an even dozen current and former ballplayers — Hall of Famer Tim Raines (76 career sac flies), Jerry Hairston Jr. (35 career sac flies) and Phillies slugger Tommy Joseph (six sac flies in 2016) also among them — and the jury is in: There is no reason that the sacrifice fly should be held against a player’s on-base percentage.

Deshaun Watson’s NFL draft doubters should trust Dabo Swinney

Deshaun Watson didn’t do much at Clemson’s Pro Day on Thursday to help or hurt his stock as the potential top quarterback prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft.

But running around and throwing lasers again to his college go-to guys at wide receiver and tight end provided a reminder of his greatest, most immeasurable asset vs. any other QB in the class — he’s the only one who can boast that he’s fresh off leading a team to a national championship.

But The Big Hurt is not happy by any means.

Thomas was alluding to Ivan Rodriguez and Jeff Bagwell, both of China Cheap Jerseys Wholesale whom were elected despite allegations of PED use. Tim Raines, who used cocaine during his playing days, will also be part of the Class of 2017.

Thomas’ stance on Bonds and Clemens might seem surprising but the Big Hurt still has strong feelings about players who took steroids.

“Some of these guys were great players, but they wouldn’t have been great players without drugs,” Thomas, a Hall of Famer himself, said. “I don’t mind these guys doing what they want to do for their families and make their money. But don’t come calling to the Hall of Fame and say, ‘I’m supposed to be in the Hall of Fame,’ when you know you cheated.”

Former Bears LB Lance Briggs worried about CTE symptoms

Lance Briggs is retired now, but the former Bears linebacker knows the 12 seasons he spent in the NFL didn’t do his brain’s health any good.

In a recent video Briggs posted to Sqor, he opened up about the dangers of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, commonly known as CTE, a progressive degenerative brain disease. More information about CTE has been made public in recent years, and Briggs is worried he might suffer from it at some point.

“CTE affects guys in a different way, and you start seeing it even in the practice of football. You get worried. I get concerned for myself. Even though I’ve never had any suicidal thoughts or anything like that, for it to happen to some great men and great football players, I know I can’t separate myself from that crowd,” Briggs said. “The good thing for me is, at least I don’t feel like I’m at a level where it’s dangerous or harmful for myself. But the stories, the things that you hear, that stuff can be scary.”

Stewart, who was an All-Star in 1989, was part of three World Series championship teams. He was on the Dodgers team that won it all in 1981 and then won a pair of titles with the A’s in 1989 and 1993. He joined the front office of the A’s in 1996 as an assistant to then-A’s GM Sandy Alderson, and held a similar position with the Padres.

Following coaching stints with the Padres and Brewers, he worked for a sports management agency and then became the Diamondbacks GM in 2014, a position he held until his firing in October of 2016.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said earlier this week he believes both groups are strong and will have sufficient financial resources to complete the sale and run the team effectively.

MLB is expected decide which bid will be accepted Design Cheap Jerseys before their next owners’ meetings in New York on May 17-18.

Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2017 announcement date, time, TV and streaming info

This unnecessary decoration is just that — a decoration. A decoration that ruins an otherwise fine piece of headwear. A decoration that continues the silly trend of destroying the sanctity of on-field hats with patches for various events: spring training, the All-Star Game, the postseason, the World Series. That’s not even counting the logo for New Era, MLB’s cap manufacturer, which will adorn on-field hats during the regular season for the first time in 2017.

I suppose the idea is to sell more hats by advertising them as event-specific headwear, hoping to persuade fans that by forking over $35 they’re getting something special, a real novelty. Except, of course, that these patches only serve to make the hats ugly. As was the case with Friday’s announcement, the unveiling of the hats is often met with fire emojis on social media.

I suppose this means some people think hats still look sharp, even with the patches. These people are wrong. Even the most otherwise attractive hat is rendered unpurchaseable (is that a word?) with the addition of a patch.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2017 Hall of Fame announcement and induction ceremony.

We won’t know for certain until the announcement, but favorites include Astros great Jeff Bagwell, who narrowly missed induction in 2016, Former Expos All-Star Tim Raines, who’s in his last year on the writers’ ballot, former Padres closer Trevor Hoffman, who’s in his second year of Cheap Michael Jordan Jerseys eligibility, and former Rangers catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, who’s making his debut on the writers’ ballot.
